Thank you for your interest. I have many years experience as an in house Art Director, Graphic Designer, Commercial Photographer, Image Processor, and Web Designer. Most recently I was the Art Director of Personal Watercraft Illustrated, a responsible from pagination, delegation and design, to press and Graphic Designer for Cycle News using InDesign, QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Working from images and copy provided by Editors on a shared server, design and fit to page count and make text corrections from copy editors markup. Place or build ads and prepare final files to transfer to press to strict deadlines. I was laid off due to department downsizing. I had been the Art Director on a temporary contract basis of Dirt Sports Magazine for it’s last two issues.
Previously I was an Advertising Art Director and Graphic Designer for ProMedia publications, Fastest Street Car and Race Pages. I was responsible for magazine production. Print and web ad design. Design of various promotional items such as trade show booth, media kits, bind in cards etc. Work with advertisers and agencies to coordinate and troubleshoot ads from external sources. Coordinating from editorial production to press. Web site maintenance.
I worked for catalog and ecommerce sporting goods companies such as Ski Limited and Bike and Spike Nashbar. Attending production meetings coordinating work flow, planning design layout, photography style or locations for catalogs and web site. Photography and styling of products and models, lighting both in studio and on location and direction of photography assistants or interns. Color correction, storing and retrieving images, art work and copy for production of catalog, web, email newsletters and other advertising publications. Web site design and maintenance.
I also spent several years primarily as a Photographer working for and studying with a great Photographer, Michael Stephen in Niles, Ohio. Photographing high school seniors, families, weddings and many other various events.
I have done photography, graphic and web design for many years under my own business name, currently as C Side Studio. I have also operated under Country Side Studio in Youngstown, Ohio and Studio On the Shores in Roaming Shores, Ohio in Ashtabula County. I provided photography service and held contracts for public schools such as Jefferson Area, Grand Valley, Pymatuning Valley and Newbury High School, providing custom theme designed backgrounds for school dances. Securing and servicing photography contracts with Little League teams, dance studios, and events. I photographed many weddings and designed many albums.
I earned my Bachelors Degree in Studio Arts, studying Graphic Design and Photography from Youngstown State University. I was trained by American Color as a Digital Photographer and Image Processor in Chicago and attended Camp Quad for pre-press and press checks at Quad Graphics in Wisconsin. I have attended many continuing education seminars and on-line classes including VTC On-line University certified in QuarkXpress 8, Adobe CS3 & CS4, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash.
